You know what woman in Avatar really doesn’t get enough love? Smellerbee.
She’s fuckin awesome.
A grade A professional badass.
I know, I know, she’s a minor character. We don’t see her much. But she’s incredible. She shows that being an awesome, empowered woman has nothing to do with how feminine you are. While we have Ty Lee on the pink and sparkly side of the spectrum, we have Smellerbee on the other, and both of them are total badasses.
What I really love about her is her confidence, and body-positivity. After Iroh mistakes her for a boy, we get this really lovely quote. “As long as I’m confident with myself it doesnt matter what people think of me! I know who I am”
A+ Avatar, for having inspiring awesome ladies, who’s sense of self-worth and badassery has exactly ZERO to do with physical looks, and everything to do with sense of self and inner strength.
Thisthisthisthisthis. Smellerbee is the ONLY Freedom Fighter I actually liked. I don’t know why, but she’s the only one I didn’t get annoyed by, so 10/10 for this post :D A+++++ Would read again
